Cultivating Student Leadership at North Middle School

Acts of Excellence take place every day at North Middle School in Rapid City, South Dakota. When you arrive as a visitor, a substitute teacher, a parent, or a speaker, you will feel welcome and impressed with a remarkable level of gracious hospitality. North Middle School serves students of families who live in a community with low household incomes.There is great pride in the achievements of the students. Parents work closely with the school administration, teachers, and staff to provide students with the opportunities for championing a culture of excellence. Students are encouraged to do their best in all aspects of their daily lives. In support of the students, the school provides both intellectual and personal nourishment, including breakfast, lunch, and meal backpacks on with weekends.The environment of North Middle School encourages each student to strive to be a leader of the school community. Through the commitment of members of the Rapid City community to champion a culture of excellence, in the summer of 2015 students of North Middle School were given the opportunity to travel to Washington DC to learn firsthand about the government of our nation and life and the people of other parts of our America.
