The South Dakota Hall of Fame shines bright in Chamberlain, centrally located in the state and just down the road from the picturesque statue, Dignity, designed by Hall of fame inductee, Dale Lamphere and funded by Norm McKie. On June 3, 2000, a 25-year dream was realized with a grand opening for this new 10,000-square-foot building.

In the 46 year history of the hall of fame, the primary goal has been to recognize and honor individuals who Champion a Culture of Excellence for all of South Dakota. Individuals from all walks of life who have chased their dreams and are sure to inspire others to do the same.

There are many ways to experience the South Dakota Hall of Fame and this individual’s stories virtually. From our many online programs, including the interactive educational program Legends & Learning, to our recent Virtual Medallion Celebration where the class of 2020 was honored and officially inducted into the Hall.

But it is a truly special thing to visit the Hall of Fame in Chamberlain and take a walk through the exhibits on display in the Visitor & Education Center. In case you haven’t had the chance to visit in person yourself, we are excited to share this SDPB virtual tour hosted by Larry Rohrer, of the Visitor & Education Center in Chamberlain with Greta Chapman and Miles Beacom.
