Experience Excellence at the South Dakota Hall of Fame This Summer

As you plan your road trip across South Dakota this summer, there’s one stop that stands out as a destination of inspiration and pride: the South Dakota Hall of Fame’s Visitor & Education Center in Chamberlain.

More than just a building or a collection of exhibits, the South Dakota Hall of Fame is a living tribute to the people who have shaped the identity and spirit of our beautiful state. It’s where the extraordinary lives of South Dakotans come together to tell a larger story—one of courage, innovation, service, and vision.

Visit the Visitor & Education Center

The Visitor & Education Center, centrally located in Chamberlain, is your gateway into the lives of South Dakota’s most influential citizens. Through compelling exhibits, digital storytelling, and historic artifacts, visitors are immersed in the triumphs, challenges, and enduring legacies of those who have made South Dakota what it is today.

Whether you’re tracing the footsteps of Native American leaders, exploring the breakthroughs of medical pioneers, or discovering the creativity of local artists, each story invites you to reflect on what it means to be a South Dakotan—and how one person can make a difference.

You can explore the gift shop for unique South Dakota treasures to remember your trip for years to come. Every purchase in our gift shop not only supports our mission but also supports many local authors and artisans.

The Visitor & Education Center is open to the public with free admission, making it a meaningful and accessible stop for individuals, families, school groups, and travelers alike. Goodwill donations are deeply appreciated as the SD Hall of Fame is a 501c3 nonprofit. Our work to champion a culture of excellence is solely sustained by private charitable donations, grants, admission donations to our Visitor and Education Center, ticket sales to events, charity auctions, and gift shop sales.
