New Exhibits at the South Dakota Hall of Fame

When you come to the Visitor & Education Center, you are greeted by our 10,000 square foot facility with over 10 exhibits to explore, a theater, the Inductee rotunda featuring all 700+ inductees, and the new Inductee class photos. The exhibits at the Visitor & Education Center serve as a wonderful education tool and are one of the many ways we Champion a Culture of Excellence; showcasing the legacy of Dream Chasers from across our state.

We have been hard at work preparing new exhibits, and we are excited to highlight them here!

Over 80 Years of South Dakota History: The Bill Groethe Photography Studio

The Bill Groethe exhibit features his extraordinary work as a preeminent historical photographer for over 70 years here in South Dakota. Bill Groethe was inducted into the South Dakota Hall of Fame in 2019. His work is a testament to the diversity and beauty of South Dakota, and we were honored to induct him. We are so thrilled to bring this exhibit to life to inspire Dream Chasers of the future, to follow their path, and to capture beauty where they see it.

Miss South Dakota More Than a Crown: Phase II Exhibit

Originating in 1946, Miss South Dakota has been wearing the crown for 73 years and the pageant is now in the newly constructed Performing Arts Center on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings. Participants have gone on to achieve major success in diverse fields including medicine, law, business, journalism, theater, politics, literature, and more. The Miss South Dakota: More than a Crown Exhibit at the Visitor & Education Center in Chamberlain showcases accomplished South Dakota icons, Shantel Krebs, Ann McKay Thompson, and Raymond Peterson.

South Dakota Hall of Fame Inductee Rotarians Exhibit

The South Dakota Hall of Fame’s Inductee Rotarian exhibit shares the amazing work of South Dakota Inductee Rotary members, and their vibrant work throughout our state’s communities. For over 110 years Rotary’s people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From economic growth, educational opportunities, and support to those in need; Rotarians lift up South Dakota with unique vision and dedication. “Rotarians believe we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues and offer exciting opportunities to give back at any age. “

We hope you plan a trip to the Visitor & Education center and find inspiration in these exhibits and the stories they hold. To learn more about these and other exhibits at the South Dakota Hall of Fame, visit our Current Exhibits page.
