South Dakota Hall of Fame Announces New Visitor and Education Center Manager
The South Dakota Hall of Fame is proud to welcome Shawn Martin to our team, as the new Visitor and Education Center Manager in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Shawn comes to this new position with strengths in organizational skills, CRM software and data management, event planning, marketing, and media, including digital marketing, fundraising, sales, public relations, and business development. He recently served as the Marketing and Communications for Wapiti Medical Staffing in Huron, South Dakota. Prior to that, Shawn was the General Manager of Performance Radio in Huron for seven years, and Executive Director of the HRMC Foundation in Huron for five years.

Shawn will begin with the SD Hall of Fame on July 17, 2024– the VEC open hours through September 14, 2024, continue to be Monday-Saturday, 9 AM – 6 PM.”
As the Visitor and Education Manager of the South Dakota Hall of Fame, there are three major areas of responsibility for this role: 1) care of the facility, grounds, and exhibits, 2) marketing and professionally representing the SD Hall of Fame in the Chamberlain/Oacoma community, and 3) the management of central operations for the SD Hall of Fame. Shawn is well-suited to manage this position for the South Dakota Hall of Fame, working as an essential part of the management team.
