Greta Chapman, CEO of the Hall of Fame, said, “On behalf of the Hall and its Board, we extend our sincere condolences to Gov. Farrar’s family and friends.  Frank Farrar was a champion of the Hall of Fame’s mission to ‘Celebrate a Culture of Excellence in South Dakota.’  He regularly joined us for the annual Induction ceremony, including the latest ceremony this past September.  Gov. Farrar’s generous support helped the Hall begin a successful endowment campaign and, as importantly, he was always available to share his wisdom and advice.  South Dakota is a better state because of the work of Frank Farrar, and we will miss him.”

When Frank Farrar was inducted into the Hall of Fame, many of his accomplishments were noted.  They included being the youngest person to be elected as SD Attorney General, his term as Governor and, later, a successful, multi-state banking career.  Also recognized was his work for many not-for-profit organizations including the March of Dimes, Boy Scouts and South Dakota Community Foundation.  Chapman added, “Much of Frank Farrar’s philanthropy impacted many people throughout South Dakota.  We experienced this is our own organization.  And, like many others, we will be forever grateful to Frank Farrar.  We are honored to be able to preserve and share his legacy for future generations.”
