We have so many exciting things coming up in 2023 at the South Dakota Hall of Fame! From the highly anticipated new class of Inductees to fantastic new exhibits at the Visitor & Education Center in Chamberlain, there is no shortage of excellence to be championed here at the Hall.
New Class of 2023
Ten new phenomenal South Dakotans have officially been chosen for induction into the South Dakota Hall of Fame! Honors Ceremony planning is officially underway, and we are thrilled to continue our mission of Championing a Culture of Excellence by uplifting this diverse class of Inductees. Visitor & Education Center Updates
The South Dakota Hall of Fame Visitor & Education Center (VEC) has been busy preparing for summer, and we are excited to share that our gift shop has a new look. We hope you stop by and check out our newly updated inventory and take home a bit of inspiration to champion excellence in your own life.
The VEC is also hosting an Art Show this year featuring talented artists from across the state. Works entered will be on display through the month of June, with an opening reception on 605 Day (Monday, June 5th).
Attention South Dakota Artists
There is still time to submit your art to be featured in this show! The deadline is May 8, 2023.
Two New Exhibits Planned To Debut
We are excited to announce two new exhibits premiering at the Visitor & Education Center in Chamberlain. The American Highland Cattle Association Exhibit and the Nine Native Nations of South Dakota Exhibit are being installed and will be available to view soon. These exhibits showcase the diversity and beauty of South Dakota in unique ways. Stay tuned for more information on when you can visit these and our many other exhibits on display.
Acts of Excellence Awards of 2023
The Acts of Excellence program at the South Dakota Hall of Fame honors everyday excellence in South Dakota. So far in 2023, we have honored the after-school program Rock School and the Rapid City Moose Lodge; and there are more to come.
Nominations are closed for 2023, but stay tuned for remaining 2023 Acts of Excellence announcements and information on how you can nominate an individual or organization for everyday excellence in 2024.
Exciting News: Legends & Learning Program
We have been taking 2023 to strengthen and expand the Legends & Learning Program at the South Dakota Hall of Fame, and we are honored to announce that through its Gives Back Grant Program, POET recently provided the SD Hall of Fame base financial support to make program updates towards inspiring youth and handing down knowledge to the next generation. Stay tuned for exciting updates to this invaluable education program in the coming months.
